ABOUT ME

Originally from Upstate New York, I decided to attend The Pennsylvania State University to pursue my dreams of a career in Journalism. Between musical theater and watching The Today Show, I found my love for wanting to tell a story. I will continue to pursue my passion for storytelling and journalism following my graduation in the Spring of 2020.

I have been an active member of the Society of Professional Journalists which has given me the chance to connect with alumni and business professionals. I was chosen to represent the Bellisario College of Communications at an SPJ conference in San Antonio this past September.

Additionally, I became a writer for the Penn State branch of The Odyssey during my Sophomore year. The Odyssey is an online platform that produces articles including topics such as life, school, and romance. Within a few months of beginning this role, I was asked to serve as President of the Penn State branch. This included overseeing 40 members who created content weekly, as well as launching our first Instagram page.

The following Summer, I interned at WTEN-TV an ABC/FOX Affiliate in Albany, NY. My responsibilities included writing scripts, formatting newscasts, and shadowing field reporters. I also learned how to edit material using Adobe Premiere and how to produce using ENPS. This experience gave me insight into how newsroom operations contribute to the production of newscasts.

In August of 2018, I served as a Live Production Intern for Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics. I worked on student-produced events that live stream on BTN Plus/ BTN2GO, along with rebroadcasted streams on BTN. I assisted in broadcasting the Penn State Women’s/Men’s soccer, volleyball, basketball, and hockey games while working in multiple roles such as replay, camera, graphics, utility, and score box.

After studying abroad in Rome, Italy in the Spring of 2019, I spent the summer interning as a Production/Costumes Intern for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. At NBCUniversal, I assisted with studio operations, the remote team, and the talent department. I also researched materials for the Fallon writers to use for the show. In addition, I purchased and managed inventory for the costumes department.

To conclude my time at Penn State, I had the pleasure of reporting for our student newscast. The Centre County Report is aired every Friday and broadcasted to 29 Pennsylvania counties. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, our time was cut short. I will now be reporting from my home in New York about the impact on our local communities. I look forward to future career opportunities post-graduation in May of 2020.
